UTICA: William R. Evans, 33 of Utica, died Thursday February 6, 2020 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born September 28, 1986 in Utica, a son of Ronald G., Sr. and Karen Reese Evans and graduated from Rome Free Academy where he was in the ROTC program. On May 19, 2018 in Utica, he entered a civil union with Heather L. McMinn. William was very patriotic and had great respect for the military. He volunteered at Fort Stanwix and the Historical Society in Rome and was always there for anyone who needed his help. He also enjoyed collecting military memorabilia, especially anything to do with his uncle’s time in the service. His uncle, William P. Reese of Waterville, served in the Vietnam War and died in the line of duty in 1967. His Celtic and Irish Heritage was very important to him.
Surviving are his wife, Heather L. McMinn of Utica; his mother, Karen Reese Evans and her companion Edmund Samuels of Rome, who was William’s best friend and roommate; his father Ronald Evans, Sr. of Utica; his grandmother, Margaret Evans of Madison; Heather’s mother, Penny McMinn of Utica. His siblings, Ronald Evans, Jr. and Jessica Millson of Rome, Philip Evans and Amber Tagarelli of Rome, James Evans and Tesla Brewer of Blossvale, Nicholas Evans and Lexi Davis of New London, Tyler Evans and Krisan Davis of New London, Becky Evans of Oneida, Autum Evans of Oneida and step sister Katie Zeidner of Oneida; his step father Thomas Jeffrey Belote of Dry Branch, GA who was a big part of William’s life and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Robert Evans, Jr.; Philip and Anna Jaquays Reese and his aunt Patricia Goodwin.
Services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 1:00 PM from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home (Kloster & Northrop Memorial Chapel), 210 E. Main St., Waterville, NY 13480. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton, NY.

Gary & Cindy Eckerson send their heartfelt sympathies to William's family, especially his Mom. Gary met William at the Whitestown Legion and talked for hours about his uncle Bill with Gary. Gary was Bill Reese's best friend from Waterville and enjoyed the time he spent that day with William talking about Bill. Gone way too soon! Prayers to all.
